District of Oyam and Aber, Uganda.
The overall objective of the project is to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in the district of Oyam, while the specific objective is to strengthen the health system in the district of Oyam exploiting the central role of the hospital to intervene at all levels (Hospital, peripheral centers, community) and with specific attention to the quality, accessibility and equity of health services maternal childhood. The direct beneficiaries are women who give birth in the district of Oyam (19648 shares per year expected in the district), and especially those who make use of health care facilities (over 10000 prenatal visits in the first half of 2014) with particular reference to the hospital in Aber (1074 shares of which 212 cesarean in the first half of 2014). The indirect beneficiaries are the medical staff of the hospital in Aber, the communities in the catchment area of the hospital for the activities of Public Health (203649 people) and the staff of the 23 Health Centre, hospital users Aber (18923 outpatients and 5042 inpatients in only the first half of 2014) and the population of the district of Oyam (405100 inhabitants).
