15 villages in the province of Sikasso (Sikasso Region in south-east of Mali) and 10 villages in the provinces of Bandiagara and Douentza (Region of Mopti in central Mali)
This emergency initiative is multifactorial and based on three pillars: food security, protection and health. The main objective is to support local communities in the districts of Douentza, Bandiagara and Sikasso (south and center of Mali), with the aim of improving the living conditions of resident and displaced population, in particular on the most vulnerable groups of children and women. read more close

People who will benefit directly from the activities of the initiative are 32.460 people mostly women and children. The indirect beneficiaries are approximately 282.230 people: related to the areas of health centers that will be enhanced, the grazing areas that will be recovered and potential users of the stores that will be rehabilitated,

Worsening of the conditions of instability in the intervention area
Consequent lack of security, so the Embassy in Dakar, in accordance with the MAECI crisis unit, not allowed aid workers to reside in the intervention areas but only to make short visits in line with the security guidelines of the UN.
Time extension of the initiative to enable NGOs to end the project activities.
