The data show that the number of refugees hosted in Niger is about 50.000 people. They are distributed in five Abala (14,850), Tillia (10,250), Ouallam (8,950), Niamey (8330), Ayorou (7,620). The wave of refugees is characterized by two main types of people, according to records kept by UNHCR: - Urban refugees: 7,000 people (of different nationalities); - Refugees settled: about 43,000 people (of Malian nationality or more).
