Main outcome

The main action is to create specific courses of education at the University of El Salvador (UES), for a preliminary assessment of the vulcanic dangerousness at the cities of San Miguel, San Salvador and Santa Ana, through geological and geochemical analysis, applying the training methods of collecting samples and in situ analysis.

-25 graduates from the UES already beneficiaries with the present courses funded of Italian cooperation in the previous project carried out by CNR/IGG in order to complete the spectrum of their knowledge and to put them at the service of analysis and response systems of natural events. -25 graduates belonging to the specialties in psychology, social, and multimedia, eager to form the first Corps of volunteers in emergencies. -Salvadorian institutions (universities, ministries, research and control institutes, Civil Protection) that will deal with Italian and international institutions, increasing each other their knowledge of this subject. -Specialists involved in the courses that will participate in the project for their growth knowledge in the techniques and monitoring study of volcanic phenomena related to the pilot sites chosen.
