Main outcome

The project aims at strengthening cocoa and coffee supply chains through processes based on agro-ecology, social economy and participatory territorial planning in the North and in the central coastal region of Ecuador. Halve, between 1990 and 2015, the proportion of people whose income is less than $1 a day (t1),referred to MDG num.1.

The direct beneficiaries of the project include: 6 organizations of cocoa producers: U. Eloy Alfaro, APROCANE, COCPE (Esmeraldas), El Negro (Manga del Cura), Aso. Lago Agrio (Sucumbios). 2 coffee producer organizations: AACRI (Imbabura), Chical y Organizaciones de Maldonado (Carchi). 2,600 families of small producers of cocoa and coffee 400. The local governments of the areas of intervention, particularly the Autonomous Decentralized Governments (GAD) provincials. The indirect beneficiaries are: I357.000 rural residents of the 12 cantons beneficiaries (94.2% poor). The receptors of information campaigns of the project, in Ecuador and Italy, who will play an active role for the exercise of their rights and duties as citizens. The cantonal and parochial governments of the intervention, with which provincial governments will coordinate their actions.
