Description

The project aims at supporting afghan Justice Institutions (Supreme Court, Attorney General Office and Ministry of Justice) and other relevant actors of the justice sector (Afghan Independent Bar Association (AIBA), Faculties of Law and Shari’a, Juvenile Rehabilitation Centers) in strengthening Rule of Law and access to justice for afghan people and vulnerable categories. The approach adopted with this project is to fund activities in order to bridge the gap between JIs needs and multilateral projects activities funded through Italian contributions. The most important actions adopted in the framework of the project are: support to Ministry of Justice in Kabul and Department of Justice in Herat, with a particular focus on the “Conciliation” (Huquq) office, to the Elimination of Violence against Women (EVAW) of the Attorney General in Herat, to the Herat University and to AIBA offices in Kabul. The fund for the Technical Assistance aims at: i) supporting monitoring and ensuring coordination and linkages among programs implemented in the justice sector, through both bilateral and multilateral funds, and directly implementing specific projects in order to integrate the activities carried out through the above mentioned funding channels. ii) promoting the active participation to the rebuilding and restructuring process of the afghan judiciary and legislative system, through specific working groups and coordination mechanisms between (bilateral and multilateral) donors operating in this sector. read more close
