Channel reported

The program foresees infrastructural and urban development activities for the Vlore suburbs and Tirana suburbs (Lapraka district) to strengthen the delivery of integrated urban services to the people living in the area. The main goal of the Programme is the socio-economic rehabilitation of the district and the improvement of the quality of life in the suburbs. The Albanian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation (MTI) is responsible of the management of the Project, assisted by the Italian Development Cooperation in Albania. The activities include the design, supervision and implementation of water supply, waste water and road network works, the restoration of electric and telephone network, the rehabilitation and extension of the public lighting system and rehabilitation of two existing public buildings (cinema and library). The Project “Suburbs of Tirana – Infrastructural Component – Lapraka district”, launched in 2005, was completed in 2010 with a saving of around 900.000 Euro. Upon MTI request, in 2014 DGCS gave its no objection to the use of the residual funds for further redevelopment works of the Lapraka district. The general objectives of the program are aligned with the guidelines of the Albanian Government, aimed at the improvement of the quality of life in the cities, through infrastructural and urban development, and a better and more self-sustainable management of urban utilities. The initiative is in line with the Guide Lines 2014-2016 of the Italian Development Cooperation. read more close
