Aim of the project 'to ensure the food security of the region Sumaj Kausayman The project aims to improve the human security of 495 indigenous families in 24 rural communities of 4 Ayllus in the north of Potosi Department-Bolivia, strengthening food security through sustainable management of local resources, reducing the models of production vulnerability and consumption, creating opportunities for new revenues for farmers during periods of migration, strengthening the level of organization, representation and institutional negotiation of the indigenous population, developing the ability to be permanent actor of local development. The activities of the consortium RC-CISP with the Bolivian NGO CAD are: supporting families to have organizational security (promoting the ability of representation); developing their security trading (by improving the bargaining power in agricultural markets and in the labor market - by training initiatives for: masons, electricians, plumbers, housekeepers used during migration periods); strengthen their food and nutrition security (developing rural productive infrastructure - irrigation systems, greenhouses, stables - improving the quality of the productions - native potatoes, fodder - also diversifying - vegetables and maca - forming local technicians in livestock management and animal health, improving consumption of food in hygienic environments safer - the house kitchens - and promoting access to water and public health services). read more close
