Description

Mavalane urban district was identified by the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Mozambique for setting up a new managerial model for decentralization and health services quality improvement. In particular, according to the plan, the general hospital of Mavalane (equipped with about 200 beds) should become the referral health facility for the experimentation of new management and organization procedures. Such procedures were meant to allow a more effective and efficient service delivery and to improve accountability, and, in this way, to enhance overall service quality. This result should be mainly achieved through the supply of technical and financial assistance. The program also planned a partial rehabilitation of the hospital and health centres infrastructures and delivery of equipment for clinical activities. read more close
