Description

The SANDSIS project aims to support the Afghan government’s development strategy in the infrastructure sector, particularly the National Priority Program n. 1 of the Infrastructure development Cluster, named National and Regional Resources Corridors Program (NRRCP). SANDSIS general objective is to support the Afghan Government in the construction of a safe and integrated transportation system, that will guarantee the connection between the different areas of the Country and that will make possible the movement of people and goods in a reliable and economic manner. The project includes: i) a contribution to UNOPS, regarding the provision of technical assistance for the identification and management of Italian funded programs related to NRRCP, ii) a grant directly managed by the Italian Development Cooperation, and composed of an experts fund, for monitoring, assistance and evaluation activities, and a local fund, to support the project activities and the work of the experts. The project is focused on the following projects: i) REMABAR II – AID 8914, ii) Upgrading of the Herat airport – AID 10074, iii) REWCOR – Rehabilitation of the East-West corridor, from Herat to Chishti Sharif – AID 10214. read more close
