Description

The initiative aims at creating development opportunities in decentralized areas while fostering the study and promotion of international religious tourism in Lebanon. Namely the project intends to include Lebanon in the international map of cultural and religious tourism through the elaboration of religious tourism itineraries and the valorization of significant religious sights of the Lebanese patrimony. With a contribution of 414,000.00 Euro, the initiative will be supervised by the Office of the Prime Minister, who made available a Cultural Religious Tourism Unit that shall ensure the management of the activities, in collaboration and with the support of the Italian experts and the Cooperation Office personnel. Such activities include the creation of a database of the potential tourist sites, the definition of a tourism product for Lebanon that may be fully in compliance with the standards of the international tourism market, the elaboration of a marketing plan for the religious tourism in Lebanon, the identification of suitable action according to priorities of intervention and the definition of adequate incentives to the private sector in order to ensure private investments in the religious tourism sector also in decentralized areas. read more close
