Description

The protracted conflict in Darfur which has uprooted more than three million people has had particularly devastating consequences for thousands of women and girls. In Darfur States, women and girls continue to face risk of different types of GBV due to pockets of conflict and ongoing fighting and forced displacements. UNFPA’s reproductive health program primary targets women of reproductive age (15-49) in Darfur, who constitutes about 25% of the population of 5 Darfur states. The Italian Cooperation has supported since 2008 training programs for improved capacity of health care staff, as well as provision of psychological support for victims and awareness activities for women and girls and whole communities. This project continues the efforts by work around prevention and response to GBV, made by UNFPA projects with support of the Italian Cooperation. read more close
